Free material testing — no strings attached

At the Zephyr Test Center, we offer free material testing for anyone looking to validate equipment performance or explore new process solutions. Whether you're evaluating flow characteristics, testing conveyability, or troubleshooting a challenging material, our team will simulate real-world conditions using your product — at no cost.

It's just one more way we stand behind our commitment to practical, proven, and customer-focused solutions.

Why Test?

Eliminate the Guesswork

Every material behaves differently. Particle size, moisture content, abrasiveness, bulk density, and flow characteristics all play a role in how your product moves through a system. What works for one material may not work for another.

Our test center lets you see how your specific material performs under real operating conditions — before you commit to a system design. This means fewer surprises during commissioning, faster startups, and equipment that's optimized for your exact application from day one.

What We Test

01

Conveyability

Test how your material moves through pneumatic conveying lines — dilute phase, dense phase, or vacuum. We'll measure conveying rates, pressure drops, and line velocities to determine the optimal system configuration.

02

Flow Characteristics

Evaluate how your product flows from hoppers, silos, and feeders. We'll identify potential bridging, ratholing, or flushing issues and recommend the right discharge aids and geometries.

03

Filtration Performance

Determine the right filter media, air-to-cloth ratio, and pulse cleaning parameters for your dust collection and material recovery requirements.

04

Material Degradation

Assess whether your material is susceptible to attrition, smearing, or heat buildup during conveying. We'll help you select the system type and line velocity that preserves product integrity.

The Process

How It Works

Step 1

Send Us Your Material

Ship a representative sample to our facility in Orchard Park, NY. We typically need 50–200 lbs depending on the test scope.

Step 2

We Run the Tests

Our engineering team configures the test setup to match your application parameters and runs your material through the system. You're welcome to attend in person or receive a video summary.

Step 3

Review the Results

You'll receive a detailed test report with measured data, photos, video, and our engineering recommendations — all at no charge.

Our Facility

Purpose-Built for Testing

Our test center is equipped with full-scale pneumatic conveying systems, material feed equipment, filtration systems, and instrumentation to capture real performance data. It's not a scaled-down lab — it's the same equipment we build for production installations, configured for controlled testing.
